Just a few kilometers from Siena, nestled in the Chianti hillsides, in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside, lies Fattoria di Petroio. This Estate has its historic origins on the ancient road between Siena and Florence, which passes right in front of the main Villa, and has made Petroio a strategic reference point between these two cities. For this reason on the property it is possible to find ruins and artifacts from different eras, such as the burg of Palazzo Petrojo, which has always been inhabited even before it became the property of Luigi Pallini in the 19th century. The Pallini-Lenzi family has since then been responsible for Petroio up to the actual owner, Gian Luigi Lenzi, who inherited the Estate from his grandfather Luigi Pallini II in 1961. Thanks to his encounter with his wife, Pamela, it was possible to put new energy into the wine production, renewing both vineyards and cellars and transforming them, with hard work and numerous structural changes, from their rural origins to a high quality wine production. Today, thanks to the 15 hectares of vineyards, which over the years have been replanted, the Estate produces about 40,000 bottles of Chianti Classico, 4,000 bottles of Chianti Classico Riserva and 5,000 bottles of IGT Rosso Toscano
